Our Fee Structure

Beware of “bait and switch” tactics that some attorneys and non- attorney petition preparers employ. Beware of hidden attorney’s fees disguised as costs. For example, credit reports (from all bureaus) should not cost more than $40.00 and the mandatory credit counseling classes should not cost more than $30.00 for both the pre filing and post filing classes. Some attorneys and petition prepares falsely claim credit reports cost $150.00 or that mandatory counseling classes costs $150.00 – not true.

Our mission at The Law Office of Andrew F. McKenna, P.C. is to provide honest and straightforward information regarding our fees and the options that are available to you.  Therefore, it is important to us that you have clear and accurate information to make your decisions. We strive to quote a reasonable and honest fee that represents the amount of work necessary to help you in your matter.

Andrew F. McKenna will personally provide you with a fee quote at your initial consultation and you are free to visit as many other attorneys as you desire prior to deciding whether you would like to use our services and compare fee for yourself. You should always go with the firm or attorney you feel most comfortable working with, as legal matters are often very important and personal.

We are confident that, after you have met with Andrew F. McKenna you will see the difference between our firm and other firms providing similar services, typically at higher fees. Competing attorneys and petition preparers (or “bankruptcy specialists”) may be able to underbid by resorting to hidden fees or with inadequate service or poor quality work, but we invite you to come to our office and compare our services.

We believe you will see why people choose to have their matter handled by The Law Offices of Andrew F. McKenna, P.C..

Bankruptcy Fees

All information regarding bankruptcy fees is general in nature. An exact fee cannot be quoted until the complexity of your bankruptcy matter has been assessed by a bankruptcy attorney.

The initial telephone consultation is FREE. Read more information on the initial bankruptcy consultation here:

The fee you are quoted is the entire amount you will have to pay out-of-pocket to complete your case. We are not like other attorneys who charge piece by piece and if there are any problems in your matter come back and ask for more money. We strive to treat you as we would like to be treated. One set payment that you make to use before your case is filed. We will then do all of the work and complete the entire matter you have hired us to handle without requesting more money.

It is important to note that in certain circumstances we also receive attorney fees from your Creditors if we file a lawsuit on your behalf to protect your right or the Court through the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy repayment plan. However, this does not change your payment to the Court in a Chapter 13 or require any further out-of-pocket money from you.

All other matters, including bankruptcy litigation, and bankruptcy amendment or repair of a past filed bankruptcy case, are also quoted as a flat fee.

A standard Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is based on a reasonable flat fee with a low monthly payment option plus the bankruptcy court filing fee of $335.00, and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy may be as low as 600.00 to file plus the court filing fee of $310.

We accept cash but prefer certified funds, checks or money orders in payment for our services. We do not accept credit card payments for bankruptcy services.
